PAR Labs has a wide variety of state of the art instruments with extensive capabilities. We continually seek to stay on the cutting edge of technology. We use automated procedures, where possible, to free up technicians, and to keep our pricing reasonable.
Metals analyses are performed by inductively coupled plasma emission spectrometer (ICP) using the Perkin Elmer Optima 2000 DV. This instrument provides quick, accurate results, and detection limits that are comparable to those that can be achieved using graphite furnace atomic absorption (GFAA). This unit also utilizes simultaneous background correction, which further improves analytical accuracy.
A Perkin Elmer 4100ZL atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AA) is also available for metals analysis. This system incorporates an Electrode-less Discharge Lamp (EDL) that provides improved sensitivity and linearity due to the greater spectral purity of the emissions. It also employs Zeeman background correction, which is preferred by the EPA. This instrument is specifically useful for attaining extremely low detection limits while minimizing interference.
Low-level metallurgical analyses are performed using a Perkin Elmer flow injection analysis system (FIAS). This instrument applies mercury cold vapor and gaseous hydride techniques to atomic spectroscopy, providing exceptional accuracy and reproducibility.
We also have a Perstorp Analytical Enviroflow 3500 Continuous Flow Analyzer, which automates the analysis of Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen, Nitrate/Nitrite Nitrogen, Total Phosphorous, Phenolics, and Total Cyanide. It is equipped with recently upgraded Alpkem Winflow software. This instrument provides precise accurate results, and eliminates human error.
The Organics department of PAR Laboratories conducts Gas Chromatography procedures utilizing the latest in capillary technology. Our testing capabilities cover many analyses including volatiles, semivolatiles, pesticides, TPH, and TCLP. The department maintains the highest quality instrumentation and detection capabilities. Our detection systems include Flame Ionization Detector (FID), Electron Capture Detector (ECD), Electrolytic Conductivity Detector (Hall Detector), Photo Ionization Detector (PID), and Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrophotometer (GC/MS).
Our analysts participate in detailed training programs from the manufacturer of the instruments, to ensure the most efficient use, and proper interpretation of results. Our state of the art scientific instruments are routinely inspected and continually maintained to ensure proper functioning at all times
